Big Savings When You Switch To E-cigs

save-money-quit-smoking1While most people make the switch from real cigarettes to electronic cigarettes to improve their health and reduce their risk of developing cancer or heart disease, they soon discover that there is another pleasant side-effect to ditching tobacco in favor of vaping: saving money.

E-cigarettes work out much cheaper over time than buying endless packets of cigarettes, and if you are smart when you buy your vaping devices and accessories, then you can make your money go even further.

Stick to the Big Brands

There are a lot of cheap e-cigs and vaporizers for sale on the internet and it may be tempting to purchase these less expensive products especially when you first make the switch to vaping. This is a false economy, however, as there is a reason that these devices are cheaper than their brand-name alternatives; they will have been made with cheaper components and cheaper batteries, which means that you will need to replace key parts much more frequently — ending up spending more than you should be rather than saving money.

These cheaper products could also prove to be less safe than those manufactured by the more established names in the vaping industry, as their cheaper components will break more easily or expose you to potentially dangerous chemicals — the very things you are trying to avoid by quitting smoking. There is a reason the top brands are such big sellers; vapers all around the world have used them safely and have enjoyed vaping with their devices.

Saving Money with Refills

Disposable e-cigarettes may be a great way to become familiar with vaping and they are certainly a convenient way to vape on-the-go, but there is a much more cost effective way of using vaporizers. You can buy blank cartomizers for your e-cigs or invest in a more advanced vaporizer that you fill with e-liquid from a bottle. This is much cheaper than buying pre-filled cartomizers as you can buy a larger bottle of e-liquid to help keep you vaping for months for the cost of a couple of packets of cigarettes.

Filling vaporizers or the tiny cartomizers that are inserted into e-cigs can be a little fiddly — and you may end up spilling some e-liquid in your first few attempts — but once you get the hang of refills, this is a very easy way of saving money when it comes to vaping.

E-liquids have a long shelf life too, so you can bulk-buy in advance if you find a great deal on a favorite brand or flavor. Just make sure you keep your stockpile of e-liquids out of the reach of any young children, in case they manage to open the bottles; the nicotine content is perfectly safe for adults but could make smaller children very sick indeed.

Sign Up for Rewards

Most vaping brands or websites selling vaping products have a reward scheme whereby you can save money based on the purchases you make. This usually costs nothing to join and if you are going to be buying vaping products anyway, then you might as well be saving money 2017-02-26_9-06-42too. Some of these websites also have a newsletter which you can sign up to receive; this is a great way to learn about seasonal sales and special offers on your favorite brands.

Shopping around on different vaping websites can also help with saving money. Many online vape stores stock the same products, but some may retail at a couple of dollars less or be subject to a special offer. Check out which sites have a low-price guarantee too; this means that if they find the same item at a lower price somewhere else, then the first site will refund the difference or match the price you have found.

Saving money may not be the main reason that most people make the switch from tobacco to e-cigs, but it soon becomes evident to ex-smokers that their new habit is much cheaper than their old one. Even disposable cigarettes work out much cheaper as each disposable contains the same number of inhalations as several dozen cigarettes — yet they cost little more than a pack of smokes.
